Marvel Stadium Roof Project
After surviving 22 years of weather, crowds, footy, cricket and concerts, it was time to replace our cable chain, trough and cables that open and shut the roof at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. Tsubaki Australia completed an overhaul of the existing cable chain system that is used on the moving roof at Marvel Stadium. This is one of the main stadiums in Melbourne, with a capacity of 55,000 spectators.
The existing cable chains were already Kabelschlepp product that had performed without any problems for 22 years. The cable chain used is the MC0650 series, and a replacement of the cable chain, trough, and cables was undertaken over a 3 week period, with Tsubaki Australia supervising the installation under the ProService banner.
The 3 week installation was due to the need for special hanging scaffolding that hangs 50m in the air, and takes time and precision to assemble/disassemble.
We were all very happy with how smoothly the project went, and for the ProService installation support that Tsubaki was able to provide. We look forward to another 22 years of trouble free operation.
